Outreach at 280 Broadway in Newburgh

A variety of neighborhood services are now available at one location: 280 Broadway in Newburgh.
The Center opened in November. Social services that had been scattered at different locations around the city are now located at this one address to make it easier for city residents to find the services they need.
"I think it is a great concept," said Nolly Climes, program director of Rehabilitation Support Services (RSS) in Middletown. "Our agency will certainly support the effort."
The building includes offices for a laundry list of support groups, including the Dispute Resolution Center, Hoops Express, Housing Resource Center, , RECAP, Latino Unidos of the Hudson Valley, MAAWS (HIV/AIDS), Orange County Reentry Program, Planned Parenthood, RSS, RPC/Newburgh Mental Health Clinic, Safe Homes Project of Orange County, two community classrooms and a PC Lab.
"The result is that nonprofits such as ours are better able to serve the residents of Newburgh," said Charles J. Darden, Executive Director of RECAP.
The building owner, Vinc
ent Cappelletti, president of Newburgh Commercial Development Corp., turned the derelict former bank building into a valuable community resource.
