DESCRIPTION OF CURRENT OPENINGS

POSITION OPEN:    Health Services Manager

RECAP, Inc. is seeking a Health Services Manager for our Head Start Program located in Middletown, New York.

This position is chiefly responsible for the following core functions and performs other tasks as needed:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The nurse will be responsible for linking families with an ongoing system of health care
Assist parents in the selection of health providers
Counsel parents about child or family health problems
Promote parent involvement in all aspects of the health program
The nurse will also negotiate with local professionals and service providers to ensure that services for families are available and accessible
The nurse will review, evaluate, and interpret health records and other vital health service data
The nurse will promote health and safety practices in the program and coordinate safety and sanitation procedures, first aid, and emergency medical procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be an Registered Nurse
Experience in Public Health and/or Nursing, preferred
Pass physical examination, background check, and fingerprinting screen
Able to tolerate lifting children weighing 40-50 pounds in an emergency
Current Driver’s License in good standing
Basic computer literacy in email, word processing and internet navigation
Maintain certification in CPR and First Aid

POSITION OPEN:    CASAC / Case Manager

RECAP, Inc. is seeking a CASAC/Case Manager for our Newburgh location who will be responsible for a strength based assessment in working with referred cases from the Orange County Department of Social Services of individuals and families deemed eligible for services. This assessment will identify areas of strength that in most cases have been ignored or overlooked. This plan will lay out what each client needs to specifically do in order to move on to the next step and ultimate attainment of their goals. This assessment covers the areas of financial, educational, vocational, psycho-social, housing, family, legal, medical and safety

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accuracy of information provided by the client will be ascertain by adherence of the basic tenets of the Front End Detection System (FEDS) and follow the time frame that will permit an expedited turnaround of applications for assistance.
Adherence to ROMA’s (Results Oriented Management and Accountability) six basic outcomes (goals) in an effort to integrate self sufficiency
Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with agency policy and procedure
Attends staff meetings and in service training
Prepare reports, correspondence, memos and records
Evaluate activities and interacts with representatives of comparable agencies and/or funding sources
Develop charts, forms and other operational materials, and implement operational systems to achieve effective workloads and workflow
Prepares and delivers formal presentations before various public and private concerns; The Case Manager facilitates and conducts as needed joint case reviews with RECAP or other Programs
Arbitrate human services oriented problems of clients
Assist in projects that foster self-sufficiency
Serve as an agency liaison between clients and other service providers
Establish positive community activities
Maintain complete and accurate confidential client records and program records
Perform other duties as requested and deemed necessary by the Program Manager


QUALIFICATIONS:

CASAC Credential. a MUST!
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Effective interpersonal, speaking, writing, and organizational skills
Strong planning and Case Management skills
Works independently
Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
NYS Drivers License in good standing
Computer educated.
