The Access to Home Program (ATHP), funded by the New York State Housing
Trust Fund Corporation, and hosted by RECAP Inc. and the Center for
Independent Living, provides resources to make necessary accessibility
modifications to homes which are occupied by low-income persons with
disabilities or mobility impairments returning to their home from having
to be institutionalized or currently institutionalized.
Projects may include
necessary modifications to parking areas, walkways, entry door widths
and hardware replacements, inside turning radiuses, counter height
adjustments, cabinet access, toilet and bath accommodations. All
services are examined and prioritized based on individual need.
