Veterans Shelter Plus Care Program (S+C)
The Veterans Shelter Plus
Care program provides addresses the special housing and service needs of
the homeless veteran with a mental illness or chronic substance abuse
problem in Orange County. The primary population to be served by this
grant are veterans who are currently residing in the FDR VA Hospital
Domiciliary Care for Homeless Veterans (DCHV), a transitional housing
program in Montrose, NY. The case management for this program is
supplied by the VA hospital case management staff. RECAP provides the
housing units and insures the day to day living needs of the veteran are
being met.
Veterans
Supportive Housing Program (SHP)
The Veterans Supportive
Housing Program provides supportive permanent housing for disabled
homeless veterans who meet the HUD definition of the chronically
homeless in Orange County, New York. Funding is requested under the
Supportive Housing Program (SHP). This project consists of eleven single
room occupancy (SRO) units in the city of Newburgh, NY. The client
receives supportive services including; case management, job training,
GED preparation, vocational and educational services, transportation,
chemical dependency assessments and chemical dependency treatment. |
