“Helping People. Changing Lives”

Volunteer

Volunteers envision the future, work with clients, share their passions, and build up our services.

Every year volunteers donate hundreds hours while putting skills to work, exploring career possibilities, getting school credit, or developing community connections. A diverse pool of volunteers makes for a rich experience and helps RECAP generate awareness about community action while reaching people who need our services. Volunteering is a great way for businesses to team build and an avenue for seniors to share knowledge. Our volunteers have the opportunity to participate in educational and community outreach events as well.

"RECAP is a really good training ground." – Somary Santiago, RECAP Volunteer

Fundraising/Public Relations Committee

Want to get more involved? Interested in development opportunities? RECAP’s Fundraising/Public Relations Committee works to strengthen the planning, marketing, staffing, and finance elements of nonprofit fundraising. Members develop fundraising targets, research diverse sources of funds, create marketing tools and action plans, track donations, and generate awareness about community action and the people we serve.

Members work with the Board of Directors and leadership team on a range of tasks: from event decoration to identifying new donors. We seek passionate and energized community members with backgrounds in marketing, public relations, finance, donor development, and more.

The committee meets quarterly, on the third Tuesdays at 4:30pm

Internships

Year-round internship opportunities are available for undergraduate and graduate students seeking real-world experience. Our diverse services, from early learning at Head Start to employment readiness with Fresh Start Cafe, offer an inside look at service delivery, office management, and the fiscal responsibilities faced by a large nonprofit.

Internships depend on availability and are granted on a first come, first served basis.

Share your story

We’re always seeking people who have benefited from our services and want to share their story. Did RECAP’s weatherization services reduce your energy bills? Has certification from Fresh Start Cafe’s employment readiness program helped you find work? Sharing your story not only allows us to show the public the personal effects of our work, but can inspire others to seek help.
